Lot Essay

A native of Gangling, Hubei province, Zhang Hairuo was an Imperial Scholar during the Qing Dynasty. He specialised in calligraphy, particularly in official script, painting as well as seal engraving. In 1941, Zhang inscribed the title for the Cha family genealogy book.
