Lot Essay

A native of Yuhang, Zhejiang province, Zhu Deyi styled himself as Songchuang and Shouyu. A seal engraver and an archaeologist who was accomplished in writing in formal, running, and official scripts, he authored several volumes on printing and epigraphy. Zhu was also fond of antiques.
