Specialist Note:
This painting is part of a collection of a Hong Kong collector. Ju Lian, a native of Panyu, along with his brother Ju Chao were artists in Late Qing Dynasty. He was known for his bird and flower paintings as well as figure and plant-and-insect paintings. He was the teacher of the brothers Gao Jianfu and Gao Qifeng, the founders of the Lingnan school.
