The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

We have sought to record changes in the condition of this piece acquired after its initial manufacture.
- there appears to be an area of restoration to the bottom of the vessel
- possible break to one leg
- chips to the legs and other extremities, as can be seen in the illustration
- malachite and some area of wart-like corrosion, as can be seen in the illustration
- there are flattened, reddish-brown areas in the taotie masks band, which are probably the result of over cleaning and repatination.
