A CIZHOU CARVED PILLOW
SONG-JIN DYNASTY, 12TH-13TH CENTURY
The top is carved through a white slip with a large peony blossom borne on a leafy stem and reserved on a punched ground. The sides are carved with floral stems, covered overall with a glaze of ivory tone that falls to the foot.
