The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
We have sought to record changes in the condition of this piece acquired after its initial manufacture.
- a large section of the upper body and the mouth has been restuck with associated repairs and overpainting and two associated long cracks extending to the lower body
- expected surface abrasions and scratches consistent with age and use
- a few small areas of overpainting or possible fill-in to the body
- a few firing flaws and glaze gaps to the body
- filled-in chips, one with associated crack, and other chips to the foot
- kiln grit adhesion and firing crack to the base
