The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
We have sought to record changes in the condition of this piece acquired after its initial manufacture.
larger bowl:
- a large section has been restuck with gold repair
- a small chip, glaze gaps, light fritting to the mouth rim
- a few burst glaze bubbles to both exterior and interior
- expected minor surface wear and light scratches consistent with age and use
smaller bowl:
- one side of the exterior has been misfired and the exterior has other flaws including a bump and a linear glaze gap
- glaze gaps, tiny chips and nicks to the mouth rim
- kiln grit adhesion to the base
- a short firing crack, a few burst glaze bubbles, iron spots and small glaze flakes to the interior
