The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

We have sought to record changes in the condition of this piece acquired after its initial manufacture.
- areas of loss to the decoration, some of which have been recarved or polished
- some old cracks including a curved one on the side of the interior and another in the base of the interior
- natural fissures and some opaque mottling in the stone
- both mouth rim and foot rim have been polished with associated nicks and chips
- expected minute nicks and tiny white bruises to the edges and extremities
- `E006' is inscribed in black near the foot rim
