Lot Essay

Wolf Kahn was influenced by Georges Braque in his early career, and painted some still lives inspired by Braque while studying under Hans Hofmann. Kahn referred to Braque as “the first artist I felt I understood completely.” This print was hung in Kahn’s New York City studio.
