Wolf Kahn and Emily Mason formed a lasting friendship with Wayne Thiebaud when Kahn was teaching in 1960 as a visiting professor at the University of California at Berkeley. Kahn and Thiebaud later traveled together to Yosemite in 1993. Thiebaud has praised of Kahn’s work, “By transposing the ordinary into the marvelous, Wolf Kahn’s hushed atmospheric landscapes commemorate the love of pleasure and beauty in the wordless world of painting.”
