Champagne Reception and Three-Course Dinner for Six Hosted by Merryn Somerset Webb, Editor in Chief of MoneyWeek at the Financial Times, and Special Guest

The Event

If your bid is successful, you and five friends will be joining Merryn for a three-course dinner and champagne reception at Christie’s King Street salerooms in London on Tuesday, 28 January 2014 from 7:00pm GMT.

You will be joined by special guest, Mrs Moneypenny, former investment banker-turned-weekly columnist for FT Weekend Magazine. She is the author of Mrs Moneypenny: Survival in the City and Mrs Moneypenny: Email from Tokyo. She has also presented six series of the Channel 4 programme Superscrimpers.

On arrival at Christie’s, you will be greeted with a champagne and canapé reception. This will be followed by a sumptuous three-course meal in Christie’s main salerooms, where you’ll have first viewing of Christie’s spring Impressionist/Modern Art sale.

Post-Sale

Successful bidders will be contacted by the Financial Times via email, and will be required to remit payment and provide the names of their guests and all dietary requirements no later than Thursday, 23 January 2014.

After gaining a first class degree in History & Economics at Cambridge, Merryn Somerset Webb became a Daiwa scholar and spent a year studying Japanese at London University. In 1992, she moved to Japan to continue her Japanese studies and to produce business programmes for NHK, Japan’s public TV station.

In 1993, she became an institutional broker for SBC Warburg, where she stayed for 5 years. Returning to the UK in 1998, Merryn became a financial writer for The Week. Two years later, in 2000, MoneyWeek was launched and Merryn took the job of editor.

All proceeds from the sale of this lot will be paid to World Child Cancer.
