A grotesque head of a demon

The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

With minor surface scratches, knocks, marks and chips consistent with age and handling.
Some surface dirt to the crevices.
The carved portion weathered throughout, as is to be expected.
Some losses including to the outer side of the proper left eye and eyelid, the proper right nostril and the top of the mouth.
The section behind the head simply finished.
The piece is affixed at the reverse to a custom modern metal stand by two screws.
