A Christie's specialist may contact you to discuss this lot or to notify you if the condition changes prior to the sale.
The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
This powder flask is in a good and stable condition overall. There are some areas of repair to the shell including small round spots that appear to have been filled in with mother-of-pearl roundels. The shell has light surface scratches, consistent with age and use, and some naturally occuring discolouration, particularly to the underside. The mother-of-pearl panels are stable with some very minor chips, particularly to the edge of the lid.
