Octavo (155 x 94mm), each leaf inlaid to quarto sheets (285 x 209mm). With 19 original drawings by various artists including Isabel Lyndall, F. V. Wilson, George Gibbs, L. Horter and others, in pen and ink, gouache and watercolor; text leaves with occasional pencil sketches and additional drawings. Full morocco gilt extra by Hyman Zucker, grey morocco panel on upper cover with black, brown, and light gray onlays depicting a prison yard scene; spine gilt in six compartments with red morocco love-heart onlays; wide gilt turn-ins, doublures of black morocco and gray silk, the upper doublure gilt-stamped depicting a kneeling prisoner, the lower doublure with a gilt-stamped spiderweb (joints and corners rubbed, upper joint started).
