DE L’ISLE, Guillaume (1674-1726). Carte du Mexique et de la Floride des Terres Angloises et des Isles Antilles du Course et des Environs de la Riviere de Mississippi. Paris: chez l’Auteur, 1703.

The first largely accurate depiction of the course and delta of the Mississippi River. This map “influenced [the] delineation of the Mississippi Valley for many years” (Schwartz & Ehrenberg). It also names the Missouri and the Colorado Rivers. This is a later issue, third state, with “Quai de l'Horloge” added to the imprint and Renard's imprint erased below the distance scale.
