A lovely copy of the first edition, first issue, of the world's most famous Christmas story, finely bound by Riviere. With "Stave 1" and title-page printed in red and blue and dated 1843. Arguably the most widely read and cherished of Dickens's works. Eckel, p. 110; Smith II.4.

Octavo (160 x 100mm). Half-title; complete with four hand-colored etchings, including frontispiece; 2 pp. ads at rear. Modern red full morocco gilt by Riviere & Son, gilt dentelles, all edges gilt, marbled endpapers (slight fading to spine).
