One of the most influential 16th-century maps of the Americas. The map’s inclusion in Münster’s Cosmographia “sealed the fate of ‘America’ as the name for the New Work” (Burden). Corresponds to Burden state 5 of the German versions, with the title worded as above and “Temistitan” present. Burden 12.
