Earliest issue of part 11 with misspelt “Capatin” on p.324, mixed issue of part 14 with "if" omitted at p.426, l.9 but with pagination present on p.431, part 5 with 12-line errata, part 19/20 with 2-line errata (early). 20 parts in 19, octavo (222 x 143mm). 40 etched plates by “Phiz” [H.K. Browne]. Half-title, majority of advertisements present and all preliminary pages present (part 4 lacking “Lett’s Diaries” back advertisement, parts 9–11 lacking back advertisements, part 13 lacking slip, part 16 slip preceding plates, heavy browning to some plates as usual, occasional minor foxing or stains). Original blue-green pictorial wrappers (backstrips renewed, parts 7, 11, 12, 14 and 15 with lower wrappers supplied from other copies, few tears to wrappers which are mostly repaired, usual mild soiling). Custom box with gilt titling to spine (lid detached). Provenance: Watertown Library, CT (bookplate inside box).
