ERASMUS, Desiderius (1446-1536). Ecclesiastae sive de ratione concionandi. [Basel:] Hieronymus Froben, 1554.

Scarce later edition of the Dutch humanist's influential 1535 work on the method of preaching. Ecclesiastae was one of the last major works Erasmus produced and considered one of his most significant treatises on theology. RBH does not record any copies of this edition at auction. Bezzel 826.

Octavo (170 x 110mm). (A couple small stains, wormholes at end.) Contemporary blindstamped pigskin (remnants of clasps). Provenance: early marginalia and underlining — Antonius Malendinus, 1556, Freiburg im Breisgau (deleted ownership signatures to pastedown and title) — "L.Tijdghad" (ownership signature on title) — library markings.
