First edition of this "substantial contribution to general economics” (Niehans). “The rent theory [is] historically significant because it attracted [David] Ricardo from money into general economics and supplied him with an important building block.” This copy is the second issue, with John Murray and J. Johnson listed as publishers (the first issue is Murray alone). Kress B6537.
