The birth of a princess. Marie Antoinette offers her congratulations to her brother-in-law ("Monsieur, mon frere, Cousin et beaufrere") on the birth of a princess to her sister, Maria Carolina, namely Princess Maria Anna. Born only ten months after her brother, Carlo Francesco, her birth proved difficult (for both mother and child), and suffered from poor health until her death in 1780 at age five.
