An attractive school atlas of the ancient world. Cellarius, professor of classics at Halle University, is now most famous for his geographical works, which were printed in many editions. See Brunet I, 1724.

Quarto (250 x 210mm). Double-page title and contents page, 33 double-page engraved maps by R. W. Seale after Christoph Cellarius, all mounted on guards (some very light browning). Contemporary marbled boards (rebacked in calf to style, rubbing to boards).
