First edition, presentation copy, inscribed and signed by the author on the front flyleaf: “E.W. Evans Jr. | Cordially, | James Hilton." This is a fine copy in beautiful dust jacket and the rare Evening Standard Book of the Month belly band.

Octavo (192 x 140mm). Half-title, title-page in blue and black, 4 cuts and head- and tailpiece by Ethel “Bip” Pares. Original blue cloth gilt-lettered, blue and black illustrated dust-jacket, Evening Standard advertisement wrap-around band (dust jacket with mild edge-wear, 9mm closed tear to upper panel).
