First English edition accompanied by three vinyl records. Not only have Milne’s iconic Pooh Books long been popular with children, the stories and characters have also been enjoyed by and inspired many notable composers. This collection of songs composed by H. Fraser-Simson was published only three years after the first-edition of Winnie the Pooh in 1926 and includes songs whose lyrics are attributed to Pooh himself (plus one attributed to Eeyore).

Large quarto (310 x 240mm). Half-title. Vignettes and illustrations by E.H. Shepard, dedication to Cicely Fraser-Simson in a facsimile of Milne’s hand on the flyleaf. Original cloth-backed pictorial boards printed in green and blue; original pictorial dust-jacket printed in red and blue (a few minor stains to the dust-jacket).

[With:] Three shellac “His Master’s Voice” 10 in., 78 RPM recordings of the same work in their original sleeves (one sleeve seam split). Provenance: Christie’s, 9 June 1995, lot 281.
