Extra-illustrated limited edition set, extended from five volumes to fifteen with over 1000 portraits, views, maps and a few autographs. Only 110 copies were printed in the large-paper quarto format. This set out-of-series. The extra-illustration and the binding were accomplished in 1910 according to printed statements bound at the front. Many of the engravings are hand-colored. There are about 15 original autographs bound in, including those of John TRUMBULL, Peter PARKER, Peter R. LIVINGSTON, George CLINTON, Richard VARICK, and James RIVINGTON. Volume 5 includes endorsed lottery tickets, a promissory note, and a five dollar note.

Five volumes bound in 15, quarto (304 x 240mm). On large paper. Additional engraved title-pages. Extra-illustrations inlaid to size or folded and bound in. Full navy morocco gilt, the upper covers each with a version of the Great Seal executed in gilt, and red and white morocco onlay; wide gilt borders with patriotic cornerpieces, spines gilt in six compartments with raised bands, top edges gilt, other edges untrimmed (spines sunned, a few very minor scuffs or bruises).
