PRESIDENTS OF THE UNITED STATES – a set of two extra-illustrated volumes, Autographs of the Presidents of the United States.

Two volumes, quarto (350 x 240mm), bound in red morocco with gilt-ruled boards and ribbed, titled spines (cracked). Each example laid into a page following an engraving or photograph of the subject. Housed in a red cloth slipcase.

The volumes include: WASHINGTON, George (1732-1799). Signature on the concluding page of an LS to William Paca, [Head Quarters, 5 March 1783], with closing in the hand of Jonathan Trumbull (partial fold separations not affecting signature); ADAMS, John (1735-1826). Manuscript DS, Quincy, 22 January 1825. A receipt for $250 from John Quincy Adams; JEFFERSON, Thomas (1743-1826). Signature; MADISON, James (1751-1836). DS, Washington 25 January 1834, a membership certificate for the American Colonization Society; MONROE, James (1758-1831). Signature; ADAMS, John Quincy (1767-1848).
