Kelmscott edition of the first book printed in the English language. Morris borrowed a copy of the Wynken de Worde edition from Quaritch as a model for this publication. The Recuyell was one of the first books issued by the Kelmscott Press, and the first printed using two new typefaces modeled by Morris on the Gothic lettering that he so admired. Peterson A8.

Two volumes, quarto (288 x 206mm). Printed in red and black in Troy and Chaucer types. Full-page woodcut title, many decorated borders and initials (a little toning). Contemporary limp vellum with silk ties, gilt title on spine (some ties detached, a little sunning to second volume).
