Large and elegant map of the South Seas, including a part of Papua New Guinea. This map was issued in the second volume of Dudley’s Dell’Arcano del Mare, the first sea atlas based on Mercator's projection. The European discoveries shown were made by the Dutch navigator Jacob Maier.
