First edition, in deluxe cloth floral binding. This violet pattern matches the one used at about the same time for The Tailor of Gloucester, see preceding lot. The text is second printing, with Peter Rabbit mentioned on title-page, as are all known copies in the original floral cloth. Linder, p. 423; Quinby 5A.

12mo. Color frontispiece and 26 color plates by Beatrix Potter. Original floral cloth with gilt-lettered labels, pictorial endpapers (mild sunning to spine and edges).
