First American and first illustrated edition of Stevenson's classic tale of pirates, buried treasure, and bottles of rum. Originally serialised in the children’s magazine Young Folks, Treasure Island remains one of the greatest and most popular adventure novels in English.

Octavo. Half-title, frontispiece map printed in red and black, illustrated with plates after F.T. Merrill, 4-page publisher's advertisements at end (few spots at ends, frontispiece almost detached, text block tender). Original pictorial cloth (a little darkened, slight lean). Custom quarter morocco slipcase.
