此卷上圖下文，上繪北極星圖，下撰圖略詳述各星官並配小幅南極星簡圖。識文末行記“康熙五十壹年榴月謹遵南氏圖本輯”，所指“南氏圖本”或為南懷仁（1623-1688）於1672年所繪《赤道南北星圖》，此圖或參考湯若望（1591-1666）《赤道南北兩總星圖》（1634）及常熟重刻黃裳天文圖（1506）。1672年南懷仁已位居欽天監監正職，於1670-1673年間著手鑄造六大天文儀器（均現存北京古天文臺）並撰《靈臺儀象志》説明儀器使用方法，其中11-14卷列天星約1366顆，此圖原圖或正爲該天文項目其中一環。南懷仁圖本完成後當藏於欽天監，於1712年摹製於本拍品之繪圖師或為欽天監博士或天文生。

Please note that this lot is subject to an import tariff. The amount of the import tariff due is a percentage of the final hammer price plus buyer's premium. If the buyer instructs Christie's to arrange shipping of the lot to a foreign address the buyer will not be required to pay the import tariff, but the shipment may be delayed while awaiting approval to export from the local government. If the buyer instructs Christie's to arrange shipping of the lot to a domestic address, if the buyer collects the property in person, or if the buyer arranges their own shipping (whether domestically or internationally), the buyer will be required to pay the import tariff.
