Exceptionally rare, large, and aesthetically pleasing image of Uranus and its biggest satellite Titania.

A striking image of Uranus and its biggest satellite Titania, in this image the two crescent forms perfectly mirror each other, the smaller perching elegantly at the base of the central planet, drawing the eye to the outer edge of the sphere and reminding the viewer of the rest of the globe hidden in the inky blackness of space. This image is one of a series of crescents captured by Voyager 2 on its journey out of the solar system.

Voyager 2’s images frequently offered surprising new perspectives on the planets and generated a raft of iconic imagery which helped define the popular imagination of our neighboring planets for years to come.
