Extra-illustrated with approximately 450 prints, the first volume with a hand-painted miniature depicting Christ by Gibbs Mason, on vellum, after Leonardo da Vinci's depiction of the Last Supper, inset in the upper doublure. This set was produced by Thomas W. Best of Boston. The printing of the Bible is 20th-century, the extra illustrations are mostly 18th- and 19th-century.

Seven volumes, octavo (217 x 140mm). Dark purple morocco gilt, turn-ins gilt, tan morocco doublures and purple silk flyleaves. Volume one with inset portrait miniature on upper doublure described above (a little rubbing in background) and lower doublure gilt-stamped with the Lord's Prayer, all edges gilt (spines and some edges sunned to brown).
