A rare pamphlet printed during the run-up to the tumultuous 1796 presidential election that pitted John Adams against Thomas Jefferson, illustrating the Federalists' fears about the excesses of the French Revolution while lampooning prominent Democratic-Republicans. Evans 28726 (locating seven copies in institutional holdings); Sabin 26623.

12mo (201 x 140mm). 6 engraved plates of caricatures (deckled edges with minor chips and tears, a few plates with tears touching image, some offsetting and spotting). Stabbed and sewn.
