Dow's, Vintage Port 1924
Bottled by Page and Sandeman. New Christie's Raby Castle labels based on archival material from Symington's. Two damaged and corroded capsules. One bottle with signs of seepage. Levels: two into-neck and one top-shoulder

Bottled by Page & Sandeman. This is the oldest Port in the cellar. By the limited quantity left in the bin it was clear that this was the Port of choice for drinking by the current lord’s grandfather. Now at a 100 years of age this was the most ready of the five.
Tasting note: Suave red fruits on the long taste, so refined, soft with a fantastic depth and lace like texture. There is an impressive energy in this Dow 1924. One of the best vintage ports I have tasted, especially given the condition and age. 100p. April 2024. EV
