Hine Grande Champagne Cognac 1986
Cognac
Landed in 1987. Bottled in 2001 for John Harvey and Sons. Excellent appearance

Cask sample. Early landed. 43,6%
Tasting note: A distinctive nose of oily and smoked notes, fresh expressive and vineuse. Even an iodine touch.
Elegant yet focused taste, stronger character with on the final the fine iodine aroma coming back. Very good. Here too you taste the 1986 style vintage. Dec 2020.
In 2023 when tasted next to the Jarnac aged version the difference is clear, a focused long strong taste, touch younger by appeal. More high toned nose, rancio touch, intense ripe peach fruit with balsamic notes. Touch of wood. The nose is improving with air. Softly rich rounded taste, very nice intensity and broadening. Very good maturity. Long acidity. Edwin Vos
