Taylor's, Vintage Port 1948
English bottled by Hatch, Manfield and Co. New Christie's Raby Castle labels based on archival material from Taylor Fladgate. Cracked wax capsules. Levels: three base of neck and one top-shoulder

Tasting note: This legendary vintage Port fully lived up to it’s reputation. All deep dark fruits with a great structure, packed in and still reserved. Strength and superb length of taste, only after two hours starting to shed off it’s initial understated appearance. Long lingering taste with a wonderful freshness and balance. Already a joy to drink, after being decanted well in advance, though this Taylor’s 1948 will easily live on and continue to bring pleasure for many years. Perfection. 100p. April 2024. EV.
