González Byass, La Cuadrada, Palo Cortado Añada 1997
Jerez
U. into-neck, excellent appearance, individual OWCs

González Byass Archives Limited Edition. A vintage Palo Cortado sherry specially selected by Tim Triptree MW and Antonio Flores from the soleras of La Cuadrada on 18 November 2025. 21.9% ABV.
Tasting note: “Deep golden colour with exuberant and pungent aromatics of caramel, old oak furniture with hints of dried figs and hazelnuts. On the palate velvet textured mouthfeel with intensely concentrated flavours of dried apricots and Seville orange marmalade with supremely well balanced mouth-watering acidity and an extremely long persistent dry savoury moresish finish. A superb and intense Palo Cortado that will remain at peak for decades to come.” Tasted direct from bota, 18 November 2025. Tim Triptree MW. Only the finest most delicate wines are classified as Palo Cortado, which are fortified to a higher degree to ensure no growth of flor and thus aged oxidatively in bota. Palo Cortado sherries combine the finesse of an Amontillado with the body & power of an Oloroso. This rare 1997 Palo Cortado Añada is from a single harvest and was specially selected by Tim Triptree MW and Antonio Flores from the soleras of La Cuadrada on 18 November 2025 . 22% ABV.
