Lot Essay

The Apple® //e series was Apple's follow-on to the Apple II Plus series. It introduced the ability to display lowercase characters, an 80-column text mode (with a standard expansion card), and higher-resolution graphics modes. It was also the first Apple computer to use custom chips.

Together, the keyboard and motherboard markings of this unit suggest it is a 'revision B' version of the machine (which provided the 'double high-resolution' graphics mode), manufactured in either 1983 or 1984.
