ANNE ENRIGHT (b.1962)
The Green Road. London: Jonathan Cape, 2015.
Signed first edition of Anne Enrights sixth novel, complemented by almost 1,000 words of playful, illuminating commentary across 60 pages. The Green Road is a family saga in miniature: set in a small town on Ireland's Atlantic coast, it tells the story of a reunion of the Madigan siblings and their mother, examining in turn the fractured lives of these members of the Irish diaspora. Booker Prize-winning Enright’s annotations are a delightful blend of playful, irreverent reactions to her own writing and notes on the genesis of the novel, mixed with snippets of personal, subject and local history spanning continents and time periods, and commentary on some of the issues treated in the book, from AIDS to post-natal depression.

Octavo. Original black cloth, spine lettered in gilt, pictorial dust jacket.
