The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

In addition to the catalogue description, with full margins, in good condition, very pale mat staining, the red slightly attenuated (as is common), a few soft scuffs in the red ink, a soft handling crease in the upper silver lid, a soft handling crease in the lower lid (with associated minor ink loss), pale surface soiling and very minor rubbing in places in the margins, a nick at the left sheet edge (with an associated soft vertical crease), a ½ x 4-in. pale moisture stain at the lower sheet. a ½-in. tear at the upper sheet edge, tape remains on the upper reverse sheet corners (not showing through)
