The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

The work has not been examined outside its frame, which is attached with nails to a spacer and the side edges of the canvas. The side edges of the canvas are covered with tape. A faint layer of surface dust and scattered fibrous accretions are present. Faint wear is to the edges and corners. Impasto peaks with associated wear are in places. A small loss is to the upper right quadrant in a black passage. Under ultraviolet light, a faint tide line is visible along the right vertical edge. There is no apparent inpainting visible under ultraviolet light.
