The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

The work has not been examined outside its wooden strip frame, which is attached with nails to the side edges of the canvas. The canvas undulates very slightly. Faint wear, hairline cracking and spots of paint loss are intermittently along the edges and corner-tips. Passages of drying cracks are intermittently. A small loss is near the center lower edge. A few faint scuffs are occasionally. A few passages of scattered drip accretions are intermittently, most notably to the center lower edge and right register. There is no apparent inpainting visible under ultraviolet light.
