The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

The work has not been examined outside its frame. Scattered faint discoloration spots are to the backing board. The sheet is hinged periodically along the upper edge to the backing board and undulates slightly. A few handling marks are visible occasionally near the upper edge, presumably vestiges of the artist's working method. A few soft creases and loose threads are occasionally to the edges of the fabric. A small crease is near the center right edge, and a linear crease is along the horizontal axis where the two sheets are joined. Two vertical bands of discoloration are near the right edge, mostly visible in raking light. A few small hairline scratches are visible occasionally.
