The work has not been examined outside its wooden strip frame, which is attached with nails to a spacer and the side edges of the canvas. Wear, rubbing and hairline cracking are intermittently to the edges and corners. Scattered handling marks and spots of soiling with associated discoloration are intermittently, most notably to the white passages. A faint stretcher bar mark is along the upper edge. A pinpoint dent is near the upper right corner. Scattered passages of hairline and diagonal cracking are intermittently and a passage of radial cracking is to the lower right quadrant. Pinpoint drip accretions are intermittently. There is no apparent inpainting visible under ultraviolet light.
