Condition report
A Christie's specialist may contact you to discuss this lot or to notify you if the condition changes prior to the sale.
The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
The work is structurally sound and all elements are present. Scratches, faint cracks and media transfers are to the chair element. Dust is to the interior of the picture frame near the upper edge. Rubbing and wear are to the extreme edges and corners. Abrasions, creases, spots of skinning and spots of discoloration are visible intermittently, much of which may be vestiges of the artist's working method. Cracks with some associated losses are to heavier passages of paint. There is no apparent inpainting visible under ultraviolet light.
