The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

The sheet is laid down on rice paper and hinged to the backing board along the edges. The edges of the sheet are deckled and the sheet undulates slightly. Hairline cracking with associated losses is intermittently, most notably to the blue passages of the bird's feet and face. Three repaired tears are to the right edge. An accretion is at center. A small spot of faint skinning is below the artist's signature. Under ultraviolet light, a few tiny spots of inpainting fluoresce intermittently in the cracked areas.
