The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
The canvas, stretcher and attachments appear to be in generally good condition. The stretcher bar has left a faint impression to the upper right quadrant and lower right quadrant, the largest of which measuring approximately 5cm. in length. There is a pinpoint paint loss to the to the lower right quadrant. There is are hairline craquelures in places to the extreme turnover edges, in keeping with the artist's working method. When examined under ultraviolet light, there is no evidence of inpainting. It is our view that the work appears to be in generally good condition.
