The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

The work is structurally sound and all elements are present. The canvas is undulating in places. Faint rubbing is intermittently to the extreme turning edges. A dip in the stretcher profile is to the upper right edge and another is to the lower left edge. Discolored adhesive is to the underside of the head element, and a small crack with associated lifting is at the lower edge of the figure's neck. Faint hairline cracking is intermittently to the blue passages above and right of center. A linear abrasion with an associated small loss is towards the right edge above center. There is no apparent inpainting visible under ultraviolet light.
