The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
The canvas, stretcher and attachments appear to be in generally good condition. There are some abrasions in places to the extreme edges, predominantly to the peach coloured passage along the lower edge and to the lower left corner. There are some superficial spots of accretion in the peach colour passage along the lower edge to the right. There are some very faint hairline cracks in places in the white passages. When examined under ultraviolet light there is no indication of inpainting. It is our view that the work appears to be in generally good condition.
